iBlazr is an external flash that plugs into a smartphone’s 3.5mm aux port. It features four LED lights, with a built-in 200 mAh battery that can reportedly flash up to 1,000 times, according its makers. Pricing started at $33. 

The Sound Band wireless headset is designed to let users listen to music while still being able to hear ambient noise. (AfterShokz has a similar product.) According to its Kickstarter page, the makers of Sound Band received an Innovations Award during the 2010 International CES for a prototype of the headset. As of this writing, it had smashed its $175,000 funding goal, with a total of $405,238 pledged. Pricing started at $75.

Another portable home security hopeful is the Piper on Indiegogo. Features for the Wi-Fi smart camera include sound and motion detection, temperature sensor, Z-Wave controller, 180-degree fisheye lens and a 105dB siren. According to the FAQ, setup is just a three-step process, and the app can support up to five Pipers. Pricing started at $189; its makers hope to raise $100,000 in funding.
