Sim2 Joins ProSource, Unveils M.150

LAS VEGAS —

Sim2 USA announced at International
CES that it has become a member of specialty CE buying/
merchandising group ProSource, and demonstrated
for the first time the M.150 3D LED DLP-based projector
that can be positioned as a new home interior lighting
technology.

The M.150, which is shipping now at a $28,000 suggested
retail, can be set up to converge light, beauty
and technology to present a pleasing array of color and
imagery to electrify the room ambience or present highperformance
2D and 3D 1080p video entertainment.

The projector uses Texas Instruments’ DLP light engine
and a 1,100 ANSI lumens LED lamp source, rated
to 30,000 hours.

The company explained that a combination of the
brightness of the LED system and its longer lifespan
enables the M.150 to be used for longer periods of
time, enabling a whole range of creative options beyond
simply projecting high-quality 2D and 3D 1080p
videos.

It can be used to paint home interiors with light and images
to “inspire creativity and add vitality to the home,”
noted Alberto Fabiano, Sim2 USA executive VP.

In concept, home owners will use the system to display
personal photographs, art, mood lighting or movies
in a visually pleasing way.

In teasing the projector, Sim2 called the product “the
world’s first 3D active LED video interior design system.”

“When quality is combined with unparalleled technology
and design, it harmoniously creates a visual experience
that can be described only as fine art,” said Fabiano.
“This system is a defining direction for the new year.
Sim2 is offering a product that transcends traditional
home cinema, and provides a unique visual solution to
video furnish one’s home with light.”

The DLP projection system offers a wide palette of
colors and light to add subtle visual ambiance, or create
a bright, colorful reproduction of digital imagery.

Fabiano added, “With this introduction, Sim2 is once
again first to market a system that is not only technologically
superior, but a true lifestyle enhancement for
its owner.”

Meanwhile, the ProSource move opens the doors to
Sim2 products to wider group of A/V specialty and custom
installers.

ProSource represents approximately 950 storefronts
and generating $3.6 billion dollars in annual CE revenue.
Sim2 said ProSource group offers its members critical
advantages for maximizing business opportunities with
the independent specialty retailer.
