Panasonic Unveils Six FullHD Camcorders

SECAUCUS, N.J. –

Panasonic has slated six
1MOS FullHD 1080 digital camcorders for its
2012 lineup, highlighted by a model with 3D
capture and 2D-to-3D up-conversion capability.

All six models offer compact body designs,
1MOS FullHD 1080 image sensors, ultra-telephoto
zoom lenses and Panasonic’s optical image
stabilization (OIS) system.

The new models include the HC-V700, HCV700M,
HC-V500, HC-V500M, HC-V100 and HC-V100M. Pricing will be announced later.

All six models incorporate Panasonic’s Intelligent Auto
(iA) mode with face recognition to automatically set the
most suitable shooting mode, while finding up to six key
faces to keep in optimal focus and exposure.

Each model has varying ultra telephoto zoom
ranges. The HC-V700 and HC-V700M
have 21x optical/46x digital zooms; the
HC-V500 and HC-V500M have 38x
optical/50x digital zooms; and the
HC-V100 and HC-V100M have 34x
optical/42x digital zooms.

All lenses start at a wide-angle field
of view. The HC-V700 and HC-V700M
start at a 28mm, the HC-V500 and
HC-V500M start at 32.4mm and the
HC-V100 and HC-V100M start at
32.5mm.
All models also feature various
forms of OIS to keep images as steady as possible at full
zoom extension. The Hybrid OIS + system (available in
the HC-V700, HC-V700M, HC-V500 and HC-V500M)
suppresses blurring across the entire zoom range. The
Power OIS with Active Mode system is used in HC-V100
and HC-V100M models providing high-quality optical hand-shake compensation.

All models include an SD card slot supporting the SD/
SDHC/SDXC memory card formats. Models HC-V700M,
HC-V500M and HC-V100M also incorporate 16GB of internal
memory.

Models HC-V700, HC-V700M, HC-V500 and HCV500M
also include an Eco Mode that automatically turns
off the power when the camcorder is not operated for
five minutes, and 3-inch touchscreen LCD
monitors with Touch Zoom and Touch
Shutter control.

The top-of-the-line models HCV700
and HC-V700M have enhanced
low-light shooting capability, suitable
for a range of indoor and outdoor
shooting conditions. A High Sensitivity
Sensor improves image quality in
low-light conditions.

Both models also shoot 3D images
by mounting a conversion lens, such
as the new VW-CLT2, to natively capture
FullHD 3D images. A 3D conversation
effect can also be applied to
2D recorded material.

Both models, along with the HC-V500 and HC-V500M,
also feature an Advanced Highlight Playback function
using an Intelligent Index System to view recordings as
quickly as possible. Detected highlight scenes are automatically
played back.
