Hitachi Adds LCD HDTVs

Hitachi Home Electronics (America), introduced last week its 2009 Ultravision and Alpha-series LCD HDTV product lines which the company said offer a combination of high-performance features and value pricing.

New Hitachi UltraVision series models are offered in the 55-inch, 46-inch and 42-inch screen sizes. All feature FullHD 1080p resolution, 120Hz motion processing, Hitachi's Reel120 smooth movie motion technology, up to eight high-definition inputs and Energy Star 3.0 qualification.

The UltraVision 55-inch L55S603 will ship in September at an $1,800 suggested retail.

The UltraVision 46-inch L46S603 will ship in August at $1,300.

The UltraVision 42-inch L42S503 will ship in June at $1,000.

New Alpha series sets are available in the 1080p 42- and 720p 32-inch screen sizes, both of which feature four HDMI inputs, two of which are side mounted; and RGB direct PC input. The new models also include a swivel stand for optimal viewing from a wide range of viewing angles.

The Alpha-series 42-inch L42A403 will ship in May at $849.

The Alpha-series 32-inch L32A403 will ship in May at $500.
