Pittsburgh, PA – February 26, 2015 – After executing a diverse training schedule in February, PowerHouse Alliance members are hitting the month of March hard, delivering a dynamic training series featuring some of the industry’s most influential vendors.
URC Total Control Training
Garner, NC based 21st Century Distributing, who covers much of the southeast for the Alliance, is hosting a series of URC trainings in mid-March. In nearby Raleigh, NC, 21st Century Distributing will educate area dealers on URC Total Control with sessions on March 11 and 12. They will then wrap up the week with a URC Advanced CCP course on March 13.
“As this generation of homeowners embraces home control technology, our dealers need to be prepared to handle consumer expectations when it comes to installation and reliability.” said Don Vicini, Owner of 21st Century Distributing. “PowerHouse has provided us with the access to in-demand automation vendors and with that in mind we want to ensure our dealers and ultimately, our customers, have the best experience possible, making this training series all the more important.”
Fellow PowerHouse member, Sierra Select Distributors, is also focusing on URC that same week with a two-day Total Control Road Show on March 10 and11 at their North Highlands, CA location. On the first day of the road show, attendees will review the basics of the Total Control line and learn the importance of true home automation, all of which will act as building blocks for the second day where attendees will hone their programming skills. To end the week, Sierra Select will then host a two-part session on URC CCP Remote Programming Basics followed by a more advanced Level Two course.
“We wanted to host a series that catered to dealers with varying levels of experience across the URC product line; likewise we believe that the Road Show format is an ideal way to ensure we cover all aspects of designing, programming and maintaining a robust home automation system.” said Arnie Vierra, Manager of Sierra Select. “As PowerHouse continues to grow in the home control space, it is our responsibility as a member to keep our local dealers current on the most in-demand products, installation best practices and smart home trends.”

RTI Training
Keeping to the automation theme, Consumer Electronics Distributors (C.E.D) is holding two RTI Training events on March 3 and 4 at their Northbrook, IL and New Berlin, WI locations, respectively. On each day, there will be two separate sessions where attendees will first cover RTI fundamentals, sales tactics and installation tips, followed by a more in-depth programming session in the afternoon.
Two weeks later, Volutone will also host an RTI training series at several locations within their west coast territory. Starting on March 16 in Simi Valley, attendees will have the opportunity to learn the RTI software in and out, while earning Level 2 certification and $100 in RTI Control bucks. The series will run throughout that entire week and conclude on March 19 in Irvine, CA.
Special Events
PowerHouse member, Ultimate Integration will kick off the month of March with an LG Showcase at the Lutron Experience Center in NYC. On March 5, attendees will have the opportunity to see the world’s first THX certified curved OLED TV and can also enter to win a 55” OLED TV of their own. Ultimate Integration is also offering special show pricing and $100 off all OLED and 4K LG TV’s at the event.
