Middle Atlantic Empowers Integrators With CTS(R)-Accredited Trainings at InfoComm 2017

FAIRFIELD, N.J. -– May 25, 2017 —

Middle Atlantic Products today announced it will host a robust lineup of educational opportunities at InfoComm 2017, demonstrating its commitment to helping integrators strengthen their knowledge and expertise for building reliable systems –even in the face of new technology and application trends. The offering includes three Manufacturers’ Training courses as well as three InfoComm University sessions, which will be led by Legrand’s Joe Cornwall, CTS-D, CTS-I. Every session allows attendees to earn vital CTS(R) renewal units (RUs).

* Foundational Power for AV Systems

Tuesday, June 13, 8:30 – 10 a.m.

Led by Scott Lowder, CTS, senior product manager at Middle Atlantic Products, this session will allow attendees to learn the elements necessary to achieve reliable foundational power distribution, protection, backup, and control. Each of these topics will dive deep into power problems, system considerations, concerns and risks, topologies, environments and applications, and overall best practices. Attendees can earn 1.5RU toward their CTS, CTS-D, or CTS-I certification.

* Furniture’s New Role in AV Design and Integration for Collaboration Spaces

Tuesday, June 13, 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Middle Atlantic’s Megan Knedler, director of product management – furniture, will provide a business approach to technical furniture, including how to identify opportunities and sell furniture solutions that leverage the latest trends in technology. Attendees will learn how to conduct a needs analysis and find out about ergonomic, ADA, and other certification considerations for designing huddle and flexible meeting place environments. Attendees can earn 1.5RU toward their CTS, CTS-D, or CTS-I certification.

* The Systems Approach to AV Rack and Enclosure Building

Friday, June 16, 8:30 – 11:30 a.m.

In this popular interactive discussion and hands-on course, Jay Franetovich, CTS, application specialist for Middle Atlantic Products, will cover rack structure, cable management, and thermal management, reviewing the complete system integration process, from planning to finish. The session will address the critical factors to building a complete, reliable system. Attendees will work directly with solutions in the classroom space and can earn 1.5RU toward their CTS, CTS-D, or CTS-I certification.

Wednesday, June 14, 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.

Legrand’s Joe Cornwall, CTS-D, CTS-I, will tie together, AV, network, and cloud technology to provide a clearer picture of the industry’s future. He’ll answer questions about big emerging trends and more. Attendees can earn 1.0RU toward their CTS, CTS-D, or CTS-I certification.

* Bus Power in AV Design: What You Need to Know

Wednesday, June 14, 1:00 – 2:30 p.m.

Effectively dealing with bus powered solutions is a hidden puzzle in the world of AV design. Legrand’s Joe Cornwall, CTS-D, CTS-I, will solve the challenges facing integrators. Key topics discussed will include exploring the evolving use of bus power in AV solutions; voltage assertion, from hot plug detect to EDID transmission; how dongles can endanger design, and methods of ensuring top performance; USB power delivery, including power profiles; and PoE and the evolution into PoH. Attendees can earn 1.5RU toward their CTS, CTS-D, or CTS-I certification.

* Universal Serial Bus (USB) Technology Exploration for AV Design and Integration

Thursday, June 15, 1:00 – 2:30 p.m.

The future will bring dramatic shift in the nature and application of USB functionality. This class, led by Legrand’s Joe Cornwall, CTS-D, CTS-I, will prepare participants for the future with an in-depth exploration of every facet of USB technology, dissecting USB 1.1, 2.0, 3.1 Gen 1, and 3.1 Gen 2 topologies and examining the ways emerging USB applications will support DisplayPort and HDMI(R) technologies and the hierarchy of USB communication. Attendees can earn 1.5RU toward their CTS, CTS-D, or CTS-I certification.
