AT&T Digital Life Announces Personal Security App With Professional Monitoring

LAS VEGAS, Sept. 10, 2015  — AT&T1 Digital Life introduces the Personal Security app, which gives users access to Digital Life’s professional monitoring service on the go, offering them additional support when problems arise outside their home. Starting November 2015, AT&T Digital Life will offer a limited number of existing Premium Security and Automation customers a free trial of the app.

Professional Monitoring: If someone is traveling and encounters a problem, they can use the app’s one-click alert feature to contact the Digital Life monitoring center with just a touch of a button. Available 24/7, a professional from the monitoring center can dispatch emergency services and provide information to first responders, such as contextual information about the situation as well as health conditions or allergies from a stored personal profile. Users can also choose to allow the monitoring center to view live audio and video of their location or condition to provide additional support. Users can also set a timer at the start of a trip, such as walking to a car in a dark parking lot at night, which will trigger an alert unless cancelled.

Messaging: If there is a problem, the user can send a message to a set list of contacts within the app, such as, “I was in a car accident, but I am ok,” along with their location. The messaging feature can also send a message to let a contact know they’re safe.

Mapping Feature: A map feature shows your location and the location of family members included in the Personal Security plan. With the user’s permission, the feature can also be accessed by monitoring professionals to better assist the user.

While only available to a limited number of Digital Life Premium Security and Automation subscribers on a trial basis in November, AT&T plans to launch the Personal Security app to a broader audience in the future and intends to develop enhanced features to continue extending Digital Life beyond the home.
