LAS VEGAS – BSH Home Appliances introduced a completely redesigned kitchen line of cooking, ventilation and refrigeration products at Design & Construction week that provide European aesthetics, flush installation and other luxury features for the mass premium market.

LAS VEGAS – LG Electronics is showcasing its broad portfolio of products here during Design & Construction Week as the exclusive majap provider for sections of the Show Village, a flagship exhibit displaying unique model homes and products in a lifestyle setting.
LG is supplying appliances, home entertainment and energy solutions for the Ultimate Kitchen and Fire Island home areas of the exhibit, aimed at attending builders, architects and kitchen designers.
LAS VEGAS – Electrolux will make a big splash tomorrow with its return to the 2014 Kitchen/Bath Industry Show (KBIS), unveiling a new dishwasher and induction cooktop.
The company, which has not had a presence at the show since 2008, will also exhibit three new products in its Frigidaire line, a Gallery dishwasher, a Gallery 30-inch double electric wall oven and a new freezer.
LAS VEGAS – Viking has introduced three models into its Professional line of refrigerators and ranges at this week’s Design & Construction Week, here.
The ultra-premium Viking 7-series ranges feature the company’s 23,000 Btu Elevation Burners with brass flame ports brought over from Viking’s commercial product line.
Other features include a convection oven, greasemanagement system, ViChrome griddle, LED lighting, easy-close doors and slide-out racks.
LAS VEGAS – Two of the appliance industry’s biggest trade events, the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) and the International Builders’ Show (IBS), are running together for the first time this week at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
While the combination still hasn’t restored the shows to their past majap preeminence, a contingent of top manufacturers including Electrolux, Bosch/Thermador, Viking and LG Electronics will have a major presence at the newly named Design & Construction week.
BOCA RATON, FLA. — Office Depot has added wearable fitness products to its assortment, including pedometers, GPS watches, fitness bands and heart-rate straps by Striiv, Scosche and Sync.
The chain’s marketing executive VP Tim Rea said the tie-in between office products and fitness is a natural. “There is a trend among small, medium and large businesses to encourage health and wellness programs as a way to reduce health costs,” he noted. “Healthier employees equal higher performance and lower costs.”
SPRINGFIELD, N.J. – Mack Worldwide Warranty, the 76-year-old extended-warranty provider and servicer for CE and majaps, will be launching a completely updated customer and dealer portal during the quarter.
Along with an interface overhaul, Mack said it has also invested in the latest web technology to vastly improve the speed of the site, and to enhance its look, feel and functionality. The improvements, said Mack president Jennifer Monasterio, “will set a new milestone for the Mack user experience.”

Senior VP Jeff Unterreiner said the company’s extensive research has provided unique insights into this 18- to 33-year-old demographic, including the fact that millenials purchase more consumer electronics than any other generation.
