Madison, Wis. — American TV & Appliances, which joined the NATM Buying Corp. in December, has rescinded its membership from the buying group.
NATM said American attributed the change of heart to bad timing, and left the door open to joining the group at a later date.
“Everyone at NATM wishes American much success,” the group said in a statement.
The departure, which leaves the group with 12 regional and multiregional dealers, is the second for American, which also left NATM in 2003.
Las Vegas – Vann’s may be the next dealer to join the NATM Buying Corp.
The five-store Montana chain, which was acquired in December by the Khaledi Group, said it met with the 13-member buying organization at this month’s International CES to discuss a possible affiliation.
Vann’s said that joining a buying co-op would allow it to leverage the group’s purchasing power and provide more products to consumers at better price points.
Smithtown, N.Y. – The NATM Buying Corp. has added American TV & Appliances and The Big Screen Store to its retail roster, bringing its membership up to 13 regional and multiregional dealers.
The additions provide a net gain of one member for the buying group following the recent departure of department store chain Boscov’s.
