LAS VEGAS – A variety of Samsung audio products intended for first-half shipment include the company’s first soundbar with tube amplifier, first HTiBs with post-processing technology to deliver a virtual 10.1-channel soundfield, and first HTiB with 4K2K passthrough and upscaling.
The company is also launching its first portable Bluetooth speaker.
In HTiBs, two models announced here incorporate DTS-Neo Fusion post processing to deliver a virtual 10.1-channel soundfield from 5.1- and 7.1-channel audio sources played back through a 5.1- or 7.1-speaker system.

LAS VEGAS – Dish Network will rollout at International CES 2013 the second generation of its controversial commercial-skipping DVR called The Hopper.
Dish CEO Joe Clayton said the new Hopper will hit the market later in the month.
The DVR/tuner will have all of the features of the previous version – including Primetime Anytime and the controversial commercial skipping Auto Hop function – plus more power and new features designed to expand the use of a Dish subscription both in the home and on the road.
Las Vegas - Soundmatters is at International CES to debut the foxL Duet, a compact desktop and travel-friendly AptX stereo Bluetooth satellite speaker and subwoofer system for portable devices.
The Duet combines a pocket-sized foxL speaker/speakerphone and a palm-sized foxLO powered subwoofer.
The Duet’s foxL portable speaker features dual tweeters and a BassBattery passive woofer. It features analog and Bluetooth connectivity with AptX for virtual CD-quality wireless streaming when used with AptX-equipped source devices, the company said.
Hauppauge, N.Y. — Voxx Accessories today announced it is teaming with Roku to develop an integrated digital TV antenna that will allow consumers to receive over-the-air local HD broadcasts as well as stream entertainment from the Roku platform.
Voxx will introduce the new digital antenna with Roku streaming in the fourth quarter of 2013 under the RCA and Terk brands.
LAS VEGAS – In a major expansion of it disc-to-digital movie program, Walmart will soon enable customers to convert their previously purchased DVDs and Blu-ray discs to Cloud-based digital versions at home.
Previously, customers of the chain’s disc-to-digital program were required to bring their physical movies to a Walmart store for authentication before they could access digital copies within the UltraViolet virtual content locker system.
Las Vegas – Stereo Bluetooth is appearing in a growing selection of tabletop speakers at the low to high ends as audio suppliers acknowledge the market share of Android mobile devices and the growing number of households that own a mix of Apple and Android devices.
Here at CES, multiple suppliers are launching their first Bluetooth-only speakers, others are expanding their portfolio of Bluetooth-only speakers, and other suppliers are adding Bluetooth to speakers that incorporate docks for Apple mobile devices.
Las Vegas – Harman is expanding the number of entertainment services available through its Aha cloud-based infotainment service for OEM and aftermarket radios.
The AccuRadio, Deezer, Rdio and SomaFM music services have begun offering music content to drivers through Aha, joining AOL SHOUTcast Radio, Radio.com by CBS Radio, Live365, MOG, Rhapsody and Slacker, Harman announced here at CES.
Las Vegas – Select 2014 Toyota and Lexus vehicles will become the first vehicles later this year to display real-time traffic-flow and incident information delivered via HD Radio.
