Lexington, Ky. — Thiel Audio is committed to the independent-rep distribution model and is looking at filling holes in its rep network, said Bob Brown, Thiel board member and interim COO.

In about a month, Thiel will have a “better idea” about its rep choices and will have completed a review of pricing and margin programs, Brown added.

With DeFuria’s hiring, the national sales manager position becomes full time.

Lexington, Ky. – Industry veteran Bob Brown, former longtime president/CEO of Lenbrook America, has been appointed to Thiel Audio’s board and has been tapped as Thiel’s interim COO.

His appointment follows Thiel’s purchase late last year by a Nashville-based private-equity firm that includes Thiel’s new CEO Bill Thomas, an audio aficionado who hadn’t been involved previously in the consumer electronics industry.

Lexington, Ky. — The Nashville-based private-equity firm that bought Thiel Audio plans to improve marketing initiatives, shorten the delivery time of new products to market, and explore new product categories, said new CEO Thiel CEO Bill Thomas.

Thiel president/CEO Kathy Gornik is leaving Thiel, which she co-founded in 1976, according to a company spokesperson.
