Cypress, Calif. – Clarion plans to add Google Places and Google Voice Search capabilities to Smart Access head units for OEM and aftermarket sales.
The company did not say when the new capabilities would be integrated into its products.

Cypress, Calif. – Clarion has opened a new office in Silicon Valley as part of a plan to work more closely with software and app companies.
Clarion’s new office is located in Santa Clara, Calif. near Google and Apple’s main campuses.
The new building will accommodate personnel from Clarion’s advanced engineering group and staffers from the marketing group.
Cypress, Calif. – Clarion launched a consumer-rebate program this week through its authorized dealers.
The “Spring Cash-in" promotion runs through June 30 and applies to seven models from the entry-level CZ102 to the top-of-the-line NX702, enabling the promotion to appeal to a much broader range of consumers compared to other companies’ rebate programs, the company said.
The rebates range in value from $10 to $100. Once a consumer submits the rebate form, Clarion mails out a prepaid Clarion-branded Visa Card.
Cypress, Calif. – Allen Gharapetian has joined Clarion as marketing VP.
Gharapetian brings more than 20 years of marketing and product management experience to Clarion, having previously held positions at SRS Labs, Memorex Products and Yamaha.
At Clarion, he will be in charge of OEM and retail marketing and product planning, retail and commercial vehicle product planning, and connected products and services planning.
He reports to Clarion Corporation of America president Paul Lachner.
