Toronto – The board of directors of Paradigm, MartinLogan and Anthem appointed its second new president/CEO in about as many months.
The board hired Christopher R. Leader, effective immediately. Leader most recently was a managing partner of Hi-Beam Consulting, a management-consulting company focused on manufacturing businesses.

Toronto – Bob Gassel, VP of engineering and product development for the Paradigm, MartinLogan and Anthem audio brands, passed away at the age of 63.
The 40-year industry veteran, based in Carmel, Ind., worked with the three brands for four years, initially as international sales VP. Before that, he was principal of The Gassel Group, a company that he founded to coach salespeople.
Toronto – Rocco Melchione has been appointed president/CEO of the Paradigm, MartinLogan and Anthem brands.
He replaces Tim Valters, who held the position for more than four years.
The parent of the three brands is ShoreView Industries, which owns 100 percent of MartinLogan and more than half of Paradigm Electronics, which includes the Paradigm and Anthem brands. The remaining percentage of Paradigm Electronics is owned by one of the founding partners, Scott Bagby.
Toronto, Canada – Paradigm Electronics shipped its first soundbar, an active model equipped with wireless subwoofer at a suggested $799.
A production sample was shown at International CES, the company said.
The bar, called Soundtrack, is part of the company’s SHIFT series, launched in 2011 to expand Paradigm’s demographic beyond traditional purchasers of in-room and custom-installed speakers. The first products were powered desktop speakers, surround-sound headphones, and earbuds.
Toronto – Paradigm Electronics has named Paul Grove North American sales VP for the Paradigm and Anthem brands.
Paradigm and Anthem along with MartinLogan are holdings of ShoreView Industries, a private equity limited partnership based in Minneapolis.
For the past six years, Grove has been responsible for driving revenue growth in the United States and Canadian markets as sales VP at MartinLogan. He will now assume additional responsibilities for managing the North American brands of the Paradigm and Anthem brands.
