Amazon Tops In Cyber Monday Traffic

New York – Amazon.com was the most-shopped e-commerce site on Cyber Monday (Nov. 26).

According to Experian Marketing Services, traffic to the No. 1 e-tailer rose 36 percent year over year to nearly 35 million visits, excluding mobile devices.

Second place went to Walmart.com, with a 21 percent spike in traffic, to 18.6 million visits.

Amazon and Walmart.com were also the No. 1 and No. 2 most-shopped retail sites on Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday, Experian said.

Reston, Va. – Online sales soared 17 percent on Cyber Monday (Nov. 26) to $1.5 billion, marking an all-time, one-day high for the channel.

CE contributed to the bounty as the second-largest gainer of the day, with sales up 24 percent year over year, trailing only digital content and subscriptions (up 28 percent).

Other top-growing categories on Cyber Monday included computer hardware, up 22 percent, and video game hardware and software, up 18 percent.

San Francisco – Walmart.com reported its best day ever on Cyber Monday (Nov. 26).

Top sellers included Double Power’s T-711 touchscreen tablet with Wi-Fi, Garmin’s Nuvi 50 5-inch portable GPS portable navigation device, and an Element-branded 32-inch, 1080p LCD TV, the company said.

Walmart also received a big boost from mobile customers, with online traffic from its mobile apps rising 280 percent year over year.
