 Huntington, U.K. – Luxury-audio supplier Meridian is expanding its OEM autosound presence in luxury vehicles with the launch of two audio systems in the all-new Range Rover Sport.

 In the vehicle, a choice of two Meridian audio systems includes the Meridian Signature Reference System, which incorporates Meridian’s Trifield 3D surround technology. The technology is said to create an enveloping and consistent surround sound experience for each passenger.

New York – Luxury-audio brand Meridian launched its first USB DAC, a portable USB-powered model that can be used with laptops for playing music through headphones.

The $299-suggested Explorer, which takes the shape of a finger-size cylinder, can also be connected to component preamplifiers via optical digital connection.

The product is the first in a range of computer-connected Meridian products in this price range, said product management director Ken Forsythe. Dealers have requested such products, he added.

New York — Meridian is launching upgraded versions of three Reference-series audio electronics components and upgraded versions of two active DSP speakers.

Meridian also plans to offer hardware and software upgrades to owners of current models, providing various upgrade levels all the way up to achieving the same specs as the new models, a spokesperson said.

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – Ultra-premium A/V manufacturer Meridian Audio will open its first U.S. retail store next week.

The showroom, located here, will be the vendor’s 14th shop worldwide. Like its sister boutiques, the new Fort Lauderdale location was created to provide “a unique retail environment” in which to showcase the company’s product line and present “a full Meridian experience,” the U.K.-based manufacturer said.
