Kenwood Steps Up Promotion, Education Efforts

Long Beach, Calif. – Kenwood is stepping up its promotion and dealer-education programs in 2013.

The new effort will include additional vendor participation in its “X Rewards” sell-through promotion, a new customer database development program, video-based training content and deeper involvement in social media and online solutions forums.

Los Angeles - George Aratani, who helped found Kenwood along with Bill Kasuga, has died at the age of 95.

Kenwood Readies Internet-Connected Navigation System

Long Beach, Calif. – Kenwood will go to International CES with two in-dash navigation systems with embedded Wi-Fi to access cloud-based services via a Wi-Fi-equipped smartphone or via a pocket-size mobile Wi-Fi hot spot.

The head units will use Wi-Fi to:

--pull Inrix data such as real-time traffic, weather, parking, speed-camera and travel-advisory information via a Kenwood cloud-based Kenwood gateway server.
