Stamford, Conn. – JBL has added two 5.1 home-theater speaker packages at suggested $299 and $399.

Denver – Luxury-audio brand AudioXperts is expanding its selection at the CEDIA Expo with a designer-inspired on-wall speaker and its third low-profile TV-speaker base that connects to TVs to enhance TV sound.
Denver – Sonance parent Dana Innovations will celebrate its 30th anniversary with the CEDIA Expo launch of small speakers in Sonance’s Architectural series of custom-installed speakers and the brand’s first two passive on-wall soundbars, which are three-channel three-way models.
Marlboro, N.J. – High-end speaker company KEF America has begun shipping its first amplified speaker system for TVs.
The $899-suggested V300 TV-speaker system consists of two shallow-depth 1.4-inch-deep left-right vertical speakers. They’re powered by an included hideaway 2x50-watt DSP-equipped Class-D amplifier/activation module, which can be attached to the VESA point in the back of a TV. The module measures 1.1 by 10.7 by 6.4 inches.
The system is designed for applications in which a horizontal soundbar might block the TV screen.
Santa Clara, Calif. – Start-up Auris launched an adapter that turns older iPod/iPhone/iPad-docking speakers into Wi-Fi-enabled AirPlay and DLNA speakers.
The $89 Skye Wi-Fi music receiver plugs into a docking speaker’s 30-pin Apple connector, though not into newer docking speakers with Apple’s eight-pin Lightning connector.
The device enables the docking speakers to stream music via a home Wi-Fi network from computers and Android, Apple and Windows-based smartphones and tablets.
Chatsworth, Calif. —Anthony Gallo Acoustics (AGA) has begun shipping its latest additions to the Ti Series of Micro’s and A’Diva’s satellite speakers.
The Micro SE and A’Diva SE (Special Edition), which are enclosed in 4- and 5-inch diameter all-metal spheres respectively, perform like much larger audiophile speakers, the company said. One of the benefits of the new speakers’ technology is the ability to present a vivid, 3-D soundstage regardless of listening position.
Munich, Germany — Audio suppliers such as iRiver, Sonus Faber, and Wilson Benesch turned up at the High End 2013 show here to unveil new products destined for the United States.
iRiver launched the second high-end portable music player under its Astell&Kern brand, Sonus Faber launched a trio of high-end Olympica in-room speakers, and Wilson Benesch unveiled its new flagship speaker, the Cardinal at $100,315/pair.
Elmont, N.Y. – Morel will add to its Octave series of home speakers with the April shipment of the three-way Octave 6 floor-standing speaker and two-way Octave 6 bookshelf speaker at a suggested $6,500 and $3,500/pair, respectively.
The speakers will join the Octave Signature, which comes with three-way configuration when upgraded with a subwoofer.
Peterborough, Ontario — High-end audio supplier Bryston is diversifying from electronics to speakers in a big way with plans to offer eight models.
The lineup includes two floor standing speakers, a stand-mount speaker, an active subwoofer, two center-channel speakers, an in-wall speaker and an on-wall speaker.
Three models are already shipping and will be followed by additional models in May and in the third quarter.
Chicago — At least one more company has launched a wireless speaker that plugs into a home’s AC outlet like a night light.
Start-up Bēm Wireless launched the $99 outlet speaker, a mono Bluetooth speaker available now on the company’s website and in March at Amazon and Target.com.
