Bellevue, Wash. — T-Mobile will be offering the LTE Android-powered LG Optimus F3 smartphone beginning Aug. 7.
The Optimus F3 will be available for a limited-time promotion price of $0 down with 24 equal monthly device payments of $10 with T-Mobile’s Simple Choice Plan at participating T-Mobile retail stores, select retailers and online at T-Mobile.com.

LG said its mobile phone business shipped 12.1 million smartphones between April and June, the highest ever in the company’s history.
Revenues in the 2013 second quarter rose 10.1 percent year-over-year to $13.6 billion reflecting strong sales increases in most of LG’s business units.
Richfield, Minn. — LG Electronics officially launched the first curved-screen large-format OLED FullHD 1080p TV at Best Buy’s flagship Design Center showroom store here Monday, ushering into the North American market a technology that some consider to be the holy grail of next-generation displays.
OLED technology has long promised the benefits of ultra-thin panel depths, very low power consumption, a wide color gamut, and the industry’s best black-level and contrast-ratio performances.
Seoul, South Korea — LG Electronics is changing the name of its premium series of smartphones to the G series, and the first phone in the series will be the G2, the company announced.
“Future smartphones in the same series will carry only the G name while the branding of mobile devices that have already been introduced will continue unchanged,” the company said.
LG previously called its premium series the Optimus series and offered multiple models in that series, including the Optimus G Pro and F5.

Seoul, South Korea — LG Electronics kicked off an online campaign last Saturday that asks consumers to send messages to loved ones under the theme “To Me, You Are Perfect.”
The company said it developed the campaign “to show LG customers what an important role they have played in inspiring innovation at LG.”
Santa Monica, Calif. — Los Angeles-area CE retail chain Video & Audio Center was the formal retail launch pad Thursday for LG Electronics’ newest Ultra High-Definition 4K LED LCD TVs in the 55- and 65-inch screen sizes.
The new models, which will be released to other dealers nationally in two weeks, mark the first 4K Nano Full Array backlit LED LCD TVs in the market, and were being offered at the event at full suggested retails of $5,999 and $7,999, respectively.
Englewood Cliffs, N.J. — LG is adding new features to its Optimus G Pro Android LTE smartphone via an over-the-air update that adds new functions and upgrades select existing functions.
The new functions include Smart Video, which intelligently recognizes the position of a user's eyes and automatically pauses a video when the user looks away. The video restarts when the viewer looks back at the screen.
Englewood Cliffs, N.J. — LG Electronics continues to expand distribution of its Optimus series of smartphones with a launch of the premium LTE-equipped Optimus F7 through no-contract service provider Boost Mobile.
The Optimus F7 rolled out earlier this month through U.S. Cellular with that carrier’s postpaid plans.
San Francisco — LG Electronics (LG) said at the Google I/O developers conference Wednesday that its Google TVs will be updated with the latest version of the Android 4.2.2 operating system.
Available in the third quarter, the update will open the platform to more applications, including games that provide a greater level of interactivity and advanced graphics, the company said.
LG is showcasing its Google TV with the new operating system here this week.
