CTIA 2013 Las Vegas — Voxx Accessories came to the CTIA convention to expand its 808 series of headphones and tabletop speakers and announce an availability date for its tabletop Soundboard speaker.
The $29-suggested Soundboard speaker, available in August, is the company’s first speaker with Soundflow technology, which lets users place a smartphone or MP3 player on a pad on top of the device to amplify the portable device’s sound. The intent is to simplify operation by eliminating the need for Bluetooth pairing.
CTIA 2013 Las Vegas – Bluetooth accessories maker SuperTooth entered into a distribution agreement with Voxx Accessories to market a co-branded line of portable audio equipment under Voxx’s Acoustic Research name.
Hauppauge, N.Y. — Voxx reported a double-digit sales gain and relative flat profits in its fiscal year, ended Feb. 28.
Net sales for the fiscal year were $835.6 million, an increase of 18.2 percent when compared with net sales of $707.1 million reported for the prior fiscal year.
Net income in fiscal 2013 was $22.5 million as compared with net income of $25.6 million for the prior year. Operating income was $41.7 million for the year, compared with $43.9 million in the comparable year-ago period.
Hauppauge, N.Y. — Stan Glasgow, former Sony Electronics chairman, has been nominated for election to the board of Voxx International.
The nomination, announced today, occurred March 22 and the election will take place at the Voxx annual shareholders’ meeting, scheduled to be held in July 2013.
Hauppauge, N.Y.- Voxx International reported higher net sales and net income in its fiscal third quarter ended November 30.
Sales increased 17.5 percent, driven by the Hirschmann acquisition and increases in mobile OEM and in accessories.
Net income was $13.2 million, up $4.3 million year on year..
Hauppauge, N.Y. — Voxx Accessories today announced it is teaming with Roku to develop an integrated digital TV antenna that will allow consumers to receive over-the-air local HD broadcasts as well as stream entertainment from the Roku platform.
Voxx will introduce the new digital antenna with Roku streaming in the fourth quarter of 2013 under the RCA and Terk brands.

Hauppauge, N.Y. — Stephen Witt, formerly of Dice and Alpine, has joined Audiovox Electronics’ mobile electronics group as mobile audio and advanced accessories VP.
It is a new position.
His responsibilities will include increasing market share with the Jensen brand, expanding the OE radio category in the expeditor channels, and accelerating the development of the company’s advanced vehicle accessories group.
