Nationwide Named Energy Star Partner For Second Consecutive Year

Washington – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has named Nationwide Marketing Group a 2014 Energy Star Partner of the Year for educating consumers about energy-efficient products.

The effort represents an “outstanding contribution” to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, EPA said, and will formally recognize the buying and marketing group for independent dealers at a ceremony here later this month. It will mark the second consecutive year that Nationwide has received the award.

Nationwide is drawing in excess of 4,300 attendees from more than 1,300 member and vendor companies to its PrimeTime show in Las Vegas this week.


Las Vegas — The Nationwide Marketing Group rode a wave of dealer additions, rebounding appliance demand and “outstanding” furniture growth to add $1 billion in sales volume over the past 18 months.

And while the severe winter weather disrupted business for both retailers and manufacturers in January and February, the merchandising and marketing organization for independent dealers is reporting a rebound in majap order- writing in anticipation of pent-up consumer demand.

Las Vegas — Reliable Softworks will showcase new releases of its merchandising software at the Nationwide Marketing Group’s PrimeTime show here next week.

The company, which provides web services to Nationwide’s dealer members, will demonstrate its updated ReliaSale platform, which offers enhanced inventory, delivery and reporting functionality for appliance, furniture, CE, mattress and home furnishings retailers.

Winston-Salem, N.C. — The Nationwide Marketing group plans to offer its dealer members an online platform to buy, sell and trade excess and unwanted inventory.

The program, provided by Harrisburg, Pa.-based Invenshare.com, allows dealers to easily add inventory to the system and conversely search for items by manufacturer, category or model number.

Winston-Salem, N.C. – Jeannette Howe, executive director of Nationwide Marketing Group’s Specialty Electronics Nationwide (SEN), has left the buying group.

A longtime industry veteran, Howe joined Nationwide to head the then-new organization in January 2006.

Tom Hickman, electronics senior VP with Nationwide, said that the group is undergoing a search for a replacement and that in interim he will be running SEN.
