New York – The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) and the Digital Entertainment Group (DEG) announced today a new collaboration to help develop and promote Ultra HD televisions and compatible products as well as 4K content for the home entertainment industries.

The announcement came during the TWICE/CEA Ultra HD Conference today at CES Unveiled New York.

New York – The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) announced today its 2014 International CES Best of Innovations Design and Engineering Award Honorees.

The CES Innovations Awards honor outstanding design and engineering advancements across 28 consumer electronics product categories, including two new categories this year: 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing, and Wearable Technologies.

Keynote addresses by Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer and Cisco chairman John Chambers, a full roster of CES SuperSessions, a new High-Res Audio Experience TechZone, and an expanded focus on apps at the show were detailed by CEA CEO/president Gary Shapiro and Karen Chupka, events and conferences senior VP, at the annual CES Unveiled New York event here.

New York — Consumers are ready to purchase Ultra High-Definition TVs, but manufacturers will need to ensure specs are kept simple and easy to understand in order to take full advantage of the upcoming refreshment cycle.

A panel of TV makers and experts convened today at the TWICE/CEA Ultra HD Conference, held at the Metropolitan Pavilion as part of CES Unveiled New York, where they discussed the challenges of making specs relatable to consumers and debated whether Ultra HD is an evolution or a revolution of TV technology.

Arlington, Va. — The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) today announced that the 2014 International CES website (CESweb.org) and enhanced mobile app are now available.

The site and app designs have been refreshed to enhance the user experience through improved ease of use across various types of devices and the addition of new customized content, CEA said.

Owned and produced by CEA, CES will run Jan. 7-10, 2014, in Las Vegas.

Washington – The Expanding Opportunities for Broadcasters Coalition (EOBC) and the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) today released a new report urging the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to implement a spectrum incentive auction framework.

The report calls for a framework that supports open participation by all wireless firms while meeting the price expectations of potentially-willing TV broadcast sellers for their spectrum as repurposed for wireless broadband, maximizing the benefits for consumers and public safety.
