LAS VEGAS – Westinghouse Digital is stepping up the 4K Ultra High Definition plate at International CES in big way by unveiling edge-lit LCD models in the 50-, 55- and 60-inch screen sizes. It’s also showcasing a 110-inch 4K behemoth.
Rey Roque, Westinghouse Digital’s marketing senior VP, said that just as the company brought high-resolution value to the first 1080p HD sets, it is now poised to bring value to Ultra HD.

Executives called the phone the world’s thinnest quad-core LTE phone with 5-inch full-HD display.
The phone will launch first in China in the late first quarter or early second quarter, and the company is in discussions with U.S. carriers to launch the device.
Las Vegas — Ecko Unltd. launched glow-in-the-dark earphones at International CES this week.
Offered in six colors, the Glow earphones have 7.8mm drivers, a tangle-free cord, in-line mic and carrying case. Frequency response is listed at 20Hz to 20kHz, with an impedance of 16 ohms at 1kHz, and a sensitivity of 98dB SPL at 1kHz.
They’re currently available for a $29.99 suggested retail.

LAS VEGAS – DarbeeVision (LVH suite 1965) is revealing here its consumer-priced video clarity and depth enhancement device called Cobalt.
While DarbeeVision’s original product, the Darblet, is optimized for high-end home theater video enthusiasts, the Cobalt has been designed to add Darbee Visual Presence depth and clarity to HDMI video for a $269 suggested retail price.
Las Vegas — Chinese cellphone supplier Huawei added its name to the growing list of suppliers offerings smartphones based on the Windows Smartphone 8 OS.
The Ascend W1 will be available in China and Russia this month, followed by the U.S., Eastern Europe, Middle East and other countries at unspecified times.
Las Vegas – Pioneer’s car audio division outlined a speedy timetable for bringing head-unit control of core iPhone 5 audio/video functions to multiple in-dash head units.
The company also expanded its selection of in-dash navigation systems to three from two and unveiled three new A/V multimedia head units.
Las Vegas — Scosche is introducing a host of new products at International CES this week, including a new line of climate-control installation kits.
The kits have 4.2-inch color touchscreen AC controllers that can be used with single or dual climate controls by plugging directly into the factory AC harness. Features include eight hard keys, the ability to accommodate ISO single- or double-DIN mounts, and factory-matched color.
