Scottsdale, Ariz. — Ingram Micro’s consumer electronics division (IMCE) hosted its annual Spring Vendor Expo, drawing more than 500 manufacturers and retailers, here.

It featured a keynote address by Gary Shapiro, president and CEO of the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA).

The event, held at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, here, from April 30 to May 2, is the 16th annual event and is designed to discuss strategy, build relationships and identify business opportunities.

Ingram Micro Posts Higher Q1 Sales, Lower Income

Santa Ana, Calif. — Ingram Micro reported higher worldwide sales but lower net and operating income for the first quarter, ended March 31.

Worldwide sales were $10.26 billion, up 19 percent in U.S. dollars when compared with $8.64 billion in the first quarter last year. The company's 2012 fourth-quarter acquisitions of BrightPoint and Aptec Holdings added $1.1 billion and $75 million, respectively, to 2013 first-quarter revenue, contributing 13 percentage points to the growth.

Scottsdale, Ariz. — Ingram Micro’s consumer electronics division (IMCE) has announced a distribution agreement with Freestyle USA, a manufacturer of high-performance sport watches.

IMCE said in a statement that the deal with Freestyle USA “expands the already successful IMCE watch product line while also giving Freestyle access to the largest consumer electronics distributor customer base in the industry.”

Scottsdale, Ariz., - Tom Bamrick has been named executive director and general manager of the Ingram Micro Consumer Electronics Division (IMCE), formerly DBL Distributing, replacing Brent McCarty.

Bamrick most recently was executive director of Global Sales and East Campus, responsible for U.S. domestic revenues and partnership development for Ingram Micro's global partners.

Scottsdale, Ariz.Ingram Micro’s consumer electronics division (IMCE) has announced a domestic distribution relationship with Magellan, a maker of portable handheld GPS receivers.

The Magellan product line offered to IMCE customers will feature popular handheld, waterproof eXplorist Outdoor GPS units, including the eXplorist 110, 310, 510, 610 and 710 models, plus the eXplorist GC geo-caching device and accessories.

Santa Ana, Calif. — Ingram Micro reported higher sales and profits in its third quarter, ended Sept. 30.

The distributor reported worldwide sales of $9.03 billion were up 1 percent in U.S. dollars when compared with $8.90 billion in the third quarter last year. The translation effect of foreign currencies had a negative impact of 5 percent on worldwide sales growth as compared with the prior year.

Operating income grew by 8 percent to $92.6 million year on year. Net income was $53.3 million, up from the prior year’s $23.3 million.
