Dallas – Samsung’s Galaxy S4 mini, unveiled in May in Korea, will come to the U.S. in November.
The smaller, scaled-down version of Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S4 will feature many of the same features as the S4, the company said.

Basking Ridge, N.J. – Verizon Wireless joined T-Mobile and AT&T in announcing a price and availability date for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 phablet.
The carrier also announced a price and availability date for Samsung’s Galaxy Gear smartwatch.
Verizon is taking Note 3 preorders on its web site for Oct. 10 shipping of the white and black versions at a price of $299 with two-year contract. A bundle consisting of the Note 3 and the Galaxy Gear Smart watch retails for $599 and also ships Oct. 10.
Bellevue, Wash. — T-Mobile became the first of the big four carriers to announce a price and specific availability date for Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3 phablet and Galaxy Gear smart watch.
For the T-Mobile network, the devices will be available nationwide Oct. 2, the carrier said early this morning. The Galaxy Note 3 will be available for a down payment of $199, plus 24 equal monthly device payments of $21, for a total of $703 with the carrier’s no-contract Simple Choice Plan. The Galaxy Gear will cost $299.
Ridgefield Park, N.J. – Samsung this week set suggested retail pricing at $1,600 for the body only on its Galaxy NX Smart camera.
Samsung’s first connected compact system camera (CSC), Galaxy NX will also be available as a bundle with an 18-55mm lens for $1,700, the company said.
Dallas –AT&T plans to offer an LTE-equipped version of Samsung’s new Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet in the coming weeks.
The company did not disclose a price or exact availability date.
The Note 8.0 is the first 8-inch tablet in the Note series, which features an S Pen, or stylus, that lets users annotate pictures and files with handwritten messages. The stylus also lets users draw pictures on screen and preview files or email messages when they hover the S Pen over a file or message indicator.
Seoul – Samsung unveiled a scaled-down version of its flagship Galaxy S4 but didn’t announce when the new device would be available or in which countries.
JK Shin, president/CEO of Samsung’s of IT & Mobile Communication Division, said the device offers a “similar look and feel of Galaxy S4 for more compact and practical usages.”
San Francisco — Protection-plan company SquareTrade reported today that 20 percent of all Americans will buy a Samsung S4 smartphone.
The company added that 25 percent of those consumers will break their new phone within the first 12 months of ownership.
The SquareTrade study found that since 2007 Americans have spent $7.2 billion on damaged Android phones. In addition, people are more than 10 times more likely to damage their phone than have it stolen or lose it.
Dallas – A broad rollout of Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S4 smartphone starts this month and runs through the summer, putting the device in the hands of seven carriers and seven national retailers at prices ranging from $149 to $249 with two-year contract.
New York — Tech21 has extended its Impactology line of smartphone and tablet protection products with the new Impact Shield, a multi-layer screen film that incorporates BulletShield impact-protection polymer.
The Impact Shield film features a hard self-healing anti-scratch layer over a harder protection inner layer developed by BASF that disperses the force of an impact by as much as 80 percent. The bottom layer is a soft film that absorbs any residual impact force.
