INDIANAPOLIS – VidaBox will begin shipping during CEDIA Expo its LiivNAS entry-level storage system designed to archive movies and music for multi-room distribution.

The LiivNAS, which will be on display at the Dune- HD booth No. 5290, is said to differ from conventional network-attached storage devices by adding a built-in Drop-n-Rip disc drive for easy archiving of unencrypted CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray discs.

INDIANAPOLIS — New home-control products that URC is launching at CEDIA Expo include the MRX- 4IR in-room base station, an in-wall touchscreen, and the MRX-20 Advanced Onscreen Network System Controller with overlaid TV-screen user interface.

The company is also launching its first two gyroscopic remote controls.

INDIANAPOLIS — Paradigm is expanding its Paradigm Shift series with its first soundbar, first AirPlay speaker, and a new multimedia speaker.

Outside of the Shift series, the company is also releasing two limited-edition speakers to celebrate its 30th anniversary.

The Shift series was launched in 2011 to expand Paradigm’s demographic beyond traditional purchasers of in-room and custom-installed speakers. The first products were powered desktop speakers, surround-sound headphones, and earbuds.

INDIANAPOLIS — RTI is coming to the CEDIA Expo with its new KX7 in-wall 7-inch color-LCD touchpanel, 3.5-inch KX2 in-wall keypad controller with LCD display, and SURFiR RF remote to control home systems.

The KX7 controls a home’s entertainment, security and environmental systems though a 7-inch 800 by 480 WVGA capacitive multitouch display that needs no separate control processor Features include composite, S-Video, and component video inputs at resolutions up to 576p.

Tablets, Dedicated Controllers Compete In Home Automation

 

INDIANAPOLIS — Tablets and smartphones are raising their profile in the home-automation market here at the CEDIA Expo, but dedicated in-wall and tabletop control systems are not going away.

Companies such as Key Digital Systems, Clare Controls, and Elan Home Systems are showing tablet and smartphone apps to control home systems, but brands such as URC, Vantage, RTI and RTI’s Pro Control brand will show new dedicated controls ranging from in-wall touchscreens to handheld RF remotes.

INDIANAPOLIS — Outdoor TV resource SunBriteTV will demonstrate its Pro, Signature and new direct-sunlight readable Marquee-series outdoor LCD TV lines at CEDIA Expo this week.

The Signature series is SunBriteTV’s price-breakthrough line, featuring outdoor TVs with prices starting approximately 40 percent lower than previous versions across the board, the company said.

Display Development Adds In-Wall Projection

 

INDIANAPOLIS – Custom video display systems manufacturer Display Development, based in Batavia, N.Y., is using CEDIA Expo to introduce two inwall high-definition projection systems to its growing product assortment.

The In-Wall System 3 (IW3), which carries a $56,000 suggested retail, and IW4, which carries a $46,000 suggested retail, are designed to produce a “screening room-like” experience in darkened viewing environments and a high-quality television viewing experience in rooms with some ambient light, the company said.
