SAN FRANCISCO — SOL Republic added its third in-ear headphones last week, the Jax.
The Jax feature the company’s i2 Sound Engines (what the company calls its driver technology), and come with flat cables and in-line mic and controls. One version will support Apple devices while another is a single- button universal control without volume control for Android devices.
They are also part of SOL’s Ear Tips For Life program, which promises to replace the silicon ear tips any time they are lost.

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J. — LG Electronics has joined the Alliance for Wireless Power (A4WP), an industry consortium focusing on magnetic resonance wireless power transfer founded by Samsung Electronics and Qualcomm.
LG becomes the 38th member company and by doing so, strengthens a bridge between two major competing wireless technology standards organizations. LG was a founding member company of the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC), which was formed in 2008 and developed and licenses the Qi standard for inductive charging. Samsung is also a member of the WPC.
NEW YORK — Tech21 has extended its Impactology line of smartphone and tablet protection products with the new Impact Shield, a multi-layer screen film that incorporates Bullet- Shield impact-protection polymer.
The Impact Shield film features a hard self-healing anti-scratch layer over a harder protection inner layer developed by BASF that disperses the force of an impact by as much as 80 percent. The bottom layer is a soft film that absorbs any residual impact force.

Speck Sues Katinkas Over Counterfeit iPhone Cases
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CALIF. — Speck Products is suing Katinkas USA for distributing counterfeit products in the United States.
LITTLE ROCK, ARK. — BiteMyApple. co, an online retailer specializing in Kickstarter CE accessories, is expanding its product offering and plans to move beyond its realm of Apple-centric products.
The e-tailer, a one-man show helmed by formal U.S. postal worker Chris Johnson, currently offers about 40 products, all of which got their start on the crowd-funding site Kickstarter. Johnson said he is currently the exclusive seller for three of them, including his best-selling product, the Radius iPhone case.
