The location-based mobile marketing platform uses short-range, low-energy Bluetooth transmitters that can communicate with customers’ mobile devices in stores.
The beacons can transmit guided assistance including special deals and promotions, timely offers based on purchase history, video product demos, and other marketing content.

The CEA Index of Consumer Expectations (ICE), which measures consumer expectations about the broader economy, decreased by 1.7 points from December to reach 166.8 in January.

Snapchat is a photo messaging application that allows users to take photos, record videos, add text and drawings, and send them to a controlled list of recipients. The CEA Index of Consumer Expectations (ICE), which measures consumer expectations about the broader economy, increased by 0.1 point in December to reach 168.5, staying consistent with last month’s ICE.
Arlington, Va. – The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) today hailed the introduction of the House of Representatives bill H.R. 3674, The Federal Spectrum Incentive Act.
The bill was introduced by Brett Guthrie (R-Ky.) and Doris Matsui (D-Calif.), co-chairs of the House Energy and Commerce Committee Spectrum Working Group. The bill will provide financial incentives to encourage government agencies to terminate or share with other federal agencies their existing spectrum assignments to free up spectrum for commercial use.
