LAS VEGAS — Goal Zero introduced at International CES two new consumer- oriented solar-power products.

The company’s new Sherpa 50 portable solar recharger, which was a Consumer Electronics Association Innovation honoree for portable power, is a compact device — it weighs 14 ounces and is 1.5 inches thick — that boasts a 50-watt-hour power capacity.

LAS VEGAS — One company working to combat dirt and smudges on all the new portable devices introduced at International CES is Best iProducts with its iEraser.

The iEraser is an eraser that works on any screen, including laptops, phones, tablets and HDTVs.

The iEraser, found at TheiEraser.com, is about the size of a smartphone. Modeled somewhat after chalkboard or dryerase board erasers, the iEraser has a shiny plastic frame with a padded ultrasuede- like material that makes quick work of smudges on any screen.

TAIPEI, TAIWAN – Genius has introduced what it is calling the world’s first battery-free wireless mouse that recharges in minutes.

The new DX-ECO BlueEye Mouse delivers a full day’s use after a threeminute charge, Genius said, with the use of a built-in gold capacitor that can be recharged up to 100,000 times.

The DX-ECO BlueEye sensor technology is said to work on virtually any surface, including dusted glass, marble or thick carpet. Its 2.4GHz USB pico receiver has a range of 33 feet and can be stored inside the mouse.

SALT LAKE CITY — DigiTech, a Harman brand, recently took the wraps off its iStomp pedal, meant for use with Apple devices.

The iStomp pedal (currently shipping for a $229 suggested retail) connects to an iPod Touch, iPhone or iPod using the included Smart Cable. After the app is downloaded, users can purchase effects for the iStomp. Two effects are included with the initial purchase: the DigiTech Total Recall Delay and the DigiTech Redline Overdrive. Effects can also be tried out for up to five minutes.

LAS VEGAS — The first demonstration of compatible active-shutter 3D glasses and 3D video components under the FullHD 3D Glasses Initiative standard, developed jointly by Xpand 3D and Panasonic, Samsung and Sony, occurred at International CES.

The FullHD 3D Glasses Initiative licenses RF- and IR-based communication protocols between consumer 3D active-shutter glasses and 3D displays with Xpand’s active-shutter technology. The glasses are designed to be compatible with any display device from any brand licensed by the initiative.

LAS VEGAS – Stream TV Networks introduced at International CES its Ultra-D 3D technology that converts standard 2D and 3D stereoscopic content, which requires 3D glasses, into autostereoscopic content that can be viewed without glasses.

According to CEO Mathu Rajan, the proprietary Ultra-D technology leverages custom hardware, middleware and software algorithms to enable realtime conversion of video, photos and games, through a converter box called the SeeCube, which attaches to an Ultra-D-enabled display.

LAS VEGAS — Marchon3D announced at International CES a deal with Japanese CE distributor Arisawa to provide a distribution outlet for Marchon3D’s EX3D line of passive 3D glasses in Japan.

EX3D Eyewear uses patented, curved M3D lens technology and includes 25 styles in a variety of colors and shapes with options for men, women and children. Suggested retails range from $22 to $70.
