Voxx Posts Net Sales Gains, Profits In Quarter

Hauppauge, N.Y. – Voxx International reported a double-digit gain in net sales, as well as higher net income and operating income in its second fiscal quarter, ended Aug. 31.

Fiscal second-quarter sales increased driven by the Hirschmann acquisition and increases in mobile OEM and in accessories.

Net sales for the fiscal 2013 second quarter were $191.7 million, an increase of 21.1 percent compared with net sales of $158.3 million in the comparable year-ago period.

Ada, Mich. – Alticor announced that it is seeking buyers for its eCoupled wireless power intellectual property, developed by its subsidiary, Fulton Innovation.

Fulton said it owns more than 240 patents worldwide related to wireless power technology, with another 480 patents currently pending. The company played a leading role in establishing the global Qi standard for wireless power as a charter member of the International Wireless Power Consortium.

Indianapolis - Silicon Image is at CEDIA Expo showing a variety of connectivity solutions for mobile, DTV and home theater applications.

On display is Silicon Image's InstaPrevue technology, what the company is calling "the next evolution in HDMI fast switching technology." The technology provides live picture-in-picture thumbnail views of what is playing on each HDMI port, taking the guesswork out of switching between HDMI sources. To change HDMI sources, a user highlights and selects the desired thumbnail view using the TV's remote control.

Salt Lake City — CE accessory manufacturer Zagg announced CEO and chairman Robert Pedersen has stepped down.

Randall Hales, president and COO, has been named interim CEO, and Cheryl Larabee has been named chairperson of the board of directors.

Zagg said in a statement that its board of directors will conduct a search for a new permanent CEO. According to its website, Pedersen co-founded Zagg and is the company’s largest shareholder.

The XDJ-Aero is engineered to wirelessly play tracks from smartphones, tablets and laptops using a mobile app or the company’s Rekordbox software. Users can mix and arrange tracks stored on their devices via Wi-Fi, as well as on USB memory devices and computers via included DJ software.

The XDJ-Aero can also create its own wireless access point when Wi-Fi isn’t available or not in range, Pioneer said. The app reportedly allows up to four devices to be identified as sources for playback.

Satechi Ships iBase Speaker Dock

SAN DIEGO — Satechi said it has begun shipping its Divoom iBase speaker and dock station for use with the iPod, iPhone or iPad.

The round speaker features four fullrange neodymium dynamic 2.5-inch drivers and a vertical support to keep the device in place while it charges. It measures 6.25 by 6.25 by 2.1 inches and weighs 20.6 ounces.
