Palo Alto, Calif. - Hewlett-Packard reported lower net earnings and net revenue in its fiscal second quarter, ended April 30, and will cut 27,000 jobs, or about 8 percent of its staff.

GAAP net earnings were down 31 percent to $1.6 billion from the prior year's second quarter, with GAAP net revenue down 3 percent year on year to $30.7 percent.

In its personal systems group, revenue was flat year over year with a 5.5 operating margin, and consumer

revenue declined 4 percent year over year.

New York - Tivoli Audio is launching its first pair of headphones and its first two tabletop radios with stereo Bluetooth.

Rockville, Md. - China-based electronics manufacturer TCL Multimedia (TCL) will use Hillcrest Lab's Freespace motion-control software for forthcoming TCL Android-based smart TVs, including the flagship V7500 Android 4.03 smart TV and motion-sensing remotes due later this year.

The companies said the TCL smart-TV system will be available in China this month before rolling out to other markets later this year.

Brisbane, Calif. - Monster announced that Noel Lee, head monster, have been honored with the Plus X Lifetime Achievement Award.

The award is given to "those persons, who over a long period of time not only shaped the market but also significantly contributed to changes in the market," the company said. It was presented to Lee during an awards ceremony on May 10 in Cologne, Germany.

Indianapolis - hhgregg reported higher sales but lower comp-store sales and lower adjusted net income for its fiscal year and fiscal fourth quarter, ended March 31.

Net income for the quarter was $53.6 million, compared with $14.6 million for the prior year's fourth quarter.

Torrance, Calif. - Aftermarket security supplier Auto Page has restructured its North American operations, giving two top executives more responsibilities.

 President Mike Northup is expanding his responsibilities to include greater involvement in product management and sales and marketing. Chief financial officer Ken Watanabe assumes more responsibilities for administration, purchasing and inventory management.

 The restructuring reflects a "changing business climate," the company said.
