Members of the photo press attend the Focus On Fashion event at the Fujifilm Pop-Up Store in New York’s Greenwich Village Tuesday.


New York – Fujifilm brought out its X-E1 and XF1 digital cameras to its Focus On Fashion event at the Fujifilm Pop-Up Store in Greenwich Village Tuesday night.

The pop-up gallery gave members of the press an opportunity to try out the newest additions to the Fujifilm X-Series digital camera line.

The Thrillist-curated street style gallery included well-dressed women shot on the streets of NYC and live models.

Commack, N.Y. – Tamron introduced this week two more lens packages for DSLR users.

Tamron’s SP 70-200mm F/2.8 Di VC USD will be available in mounts for Canon, Nikon and Sony cameras for a $1,500 suggested retail, and the 90mm F/2.8 Di VC USD 90mm macro prime lens will be available for Canon, Nikon and Sony mounts at $850.

The SP 90mm F/2.8 Di VC USD macro offer vibration compensation and an ultra-silent drive system.

Ronkonkoma, N.Y. — Sigma said it is now shipping the first lens in its new Art Line — the 35mm F1.4 DG HSM.

Available in mounts for Nikon, Canon, Sony, Pentax and Sigma DSLRs, the prime lens carries an $899 estimated street price.

The 35mm F1.4 DG HSM will feature a new matte finish and overall new design concept, which includes a clearly defined category label.

The lens provides exceptional low-light performance and a pronounced bokeh effect.

Oberkochen, Germany – Precision lens manufacturer Carl Zeiss said Tuesday that its Cinemizer OLED-based 3D capable video headset is now available in the U.S. through its North American sales agent Total 3D Solutions.

Developed several years ago, the Cinemizer has been used for a range of diverse applications including 3D gaming, dentistry, immersive learning, architectural visialisation, and remote FPV (First Person View), where it is linked to a camera on a quadrocopter, the company saide.

Tokyo – Nikon said it saw its first-half sales volume climb 26 percent with interchangeable-lens-type cameras and lenses rising 21 percent for the period ending Sept. 30.

Net sales for the first half were $4.74 billion (381 billion yen), up $703 million (56.5 billion yen) from the same period last year

Operating income was $521 million (41.8 billion yen), down $69.7 million (5.6 billion yen) from the same period last year.

New York – Samsung announced at PhotoPlus Expo here Thursday two new lenses for its NX compact system cameras, including a new 12-24mm F4-5.6 ED ultra-wide zoom lens ($599 suggested retail) and the 45mm F1.8 mid-telephoto prime lens ($299).

In addition, Samsung said it has expanded its line of advanced SD and MicroSD cards with a new Pro-series line featuring cards with capacities up to 64GB and transfer speeds up to 80MBps.
