SECAUCUS, N.J. — Panasonic introduced a fisheye 8mm/F3.5 lens for its Lumix G series, DSL Micro (DSLM) cameras.

The H-F008 Lumix G fisheye 8mm/ F3.5 lens is the equivalent of a 16mm fisheye lens for 35mm cameras. The lens is billed as “the world’s smallest and lightest digital interchangeable fisheye lens.”

ANAHEIM, CALIF. — DarbeeVision, based here, used the recent Computex show in Taipei, Taiwan, to unveil a digital image- processing system that reportedly adds 3D-like depth cues to 2D images.

The company’s Visual Presence IP core, the DV3000, is said to insert depth cues to create images that seem to pop off the screen to create an immersive visual experience with 2D material.

Images have enhanced depth and more lifelike qualities than static 2D images.

SECAUCUS, N.J. — Panasonic has introduced the Lumix DMC-FX75 super- slim digital camera with a 5x optical 24mm ultra-wide-angle F2.2 Leica DC Vario-Summicron zoom lens.

The camera features 14.1-megapixel resolution and HD video recording in the AVCHD Lite format.

NEW YORK — Looking to bring some excitement into the point-andshoot digital camera market, electronics manufacturers Panasonic and Samsung unveiled new fall entries designed to push holiday shoppers’ buttons with new expanded creativity options.

Panasonic took the wraps off of five Lumix digital cameras, including models with SLR-like burst shooting capability and manual override controls.

The new Lumix additions include the TS10, FX700, FZ40, FZ100 and LX5.

SAN DIEGO — On the heels of an extensive introduction of new 2010 Cyber- shot digital cameras at International CES, Sony introduced a pair of advanced Cyber-shot digital still cameras around the time of the PMA Show.

Models DSC-H55 (shipping in April at a $249 suggest retail) and DSC-TX5 (shipping in March at $349) will round out the new Cyber-shot lineup.

ANAHEIM, CALIF. — General Imaging will use the 2010 PMA Show to unveil 10 GE-branded digital camera models across four series for the 2010 line, and will introduce a new style-oriented GE point-and-shoot camera series developed in collaboration with acclaimed fashion designer Jason Wu.

The fashion line, which will carry the sub-brand “Create by Jason Wu,” features a compact point-and-shoot camera designed around simplicity of use and visual appeal.

ANAHEIM, CALIF. — Pandigital is showing at this week’s PMA Show its recently introduced Photo Greeting Card line — a selection of greeting cards with a built-in LCDs that can show digital photos.

The cards allow quickly uploading and displaying up to 50 digital photos on a 1.44-inch digital photo screen. Photos automatically play back as a slideshow, the company said.

Pandigital is shipping the greeting cards now at a $9.99 suggested retail, each.
