Miami — Point-of-view action video camera manufacturer MeCam introduced Wednesday its ultra-compact MeCam HD.
The diminutive camera shoots FullHD 1080p video, includes built-in Wi-Fi connectivity, weighs 2.5 ounces and measures 2 inches by 2 inches.
MeCam HD features a high-grade glass lens.
The built-in Wi-Fi support allows viewing recording in real time and sharing content with smartphones and tablets.

Ronkonkoma, N.Y. – Sigma revealed Tuesday that a free firmware upgrade is available for photographers using Nikon mount Sigma lenses with their Nikon model D5300 cameras.
The company said it has discovered that when paired with the D5300, Sigma Nikon mount lenses containing internal motors do not properly operate the optical stabilization (OS) and Live View Auto Focus functions.
The issue is specific to lenses used with this particular camera.
Seattle – Wearable video camera resource Vievu introduced Monday a wearable Wi-Fi video camera designed for professional and prosumer security applications.
The Vievu2 ($349 suggested retail) features a rugged and compact design and can be worn on a belt, lapel, pocket or other places where bulkier cameras don’t fit, the company said.
Denver – Ricoh Imaging introduced on Wednesday a new lens to its expanding APS-C optimized lens lineup with the HD Pentax DA 20-40mm F2.8-4ED Limited DC WR lens.
Ricoh’s Pentax 20-400mm F2.8, which ships in December at a $999 suggested retail, is billed as the first zoom lens in Ricoh Imaging’s Limited Lens series, and offers a high-grade multi-layer High Definition (HD) coating. It is also the first Limited Lens to feature Ricoh’s weather-sealed construction.
Hauppauge, N.Y. – Audiovox Electronics introduced Monday a remote shutter for smartphone cameras called “Shutterball.”
The remote shutter is designed to help smartphone users take “selfies,” for posting on social networks like Instagram.
The company said more than 36 million photos on Instagram are tagged #selfie, 98 million are tagged #me and countless others are list self-identifying hashtags, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
Moorestown, N.J — Ion America introduced Wednesday latest iteration in its Ion Air Pro family of action video cameras.
The Ion Air Pro 3 Wi-Fi, which ships in November at a $350 suggested retail, is billed as a wearable camera with greater mounting options than previous models and one of the more competitive price points in its class.
The third-generation Air Pro is packaged with a Wi-Fi Podz to enable shoot-and-share operation through a connection to a smartphone, tablet or other connected device.
Edison, N.J. — Sakar International said this week that its Polaroid-branded iM1836 Android-powered compact system camera (CSC) is available exclusively through Amazon and Walmart.
The Polaroid CSC, which launched at International CES 2013, is said to offer DSLR quality and flexibility with the simplicity, affordability and convenience of a point-and-shoot camera.
Valhalla, N.Y. – Fujifilm North America introduced Thursday the fifth installment in its X-series interchangeable lens camera series and a premium pocket-sized point-and-shoot with a faster autofocus system.
Fujifilm’s model X-E2 mirrorless compact system camera will ship in November at a $999.95 suggested retail price (body only) in black and silver/black configurations, and in a $1,399.95 kit including an XF18mm-55mm f2.8-4 lens.
