Core Brands Debuts ‘Focused Management Structure’

Petaluma, Calif. — Core Brands, a division of the Nortek technology solutions segment, announced the implementation of a focused management structure comprised of eight individual brand managers.

The brand management team will report directly to Paul Starkey, Core Brands marketing senior VP. The brands that make up Core Brands include Aton, BlueBolt, Elan, Furman, Niles, Panamax, Proficient, SpeakerCraft, Sunfire and Xantech.

Belmont, Calif. — Grom Audio said it has launched a new web-based ordering system for its dealers.

The Dealer Ordering System, also known as Grom-DOS, is designed to make it easier for company retailers and resellers to access the online catalog and place a new order.

Dealers can also purchase products at the wholesale pricing, track orders, receive shipping updates and request return authorization.

Harman Kardon’s $499-suggested AVR 1700 5.1-channel AVR is the brand’s first with Apple AirPlay and ability to be controlled from an iOS or Android app.


Stamford, Conn. – Harman International is rolling out a dozen new Harman Kardon and JBL home audio products, including HK’s first A/V receiver with Apple AirPlay, new opening price points on HK AVRs, and an expanded selection of JBL active soundbars and iPad-docking speaker systems.

All ship in October along with a new series of Infinity Kappa car speakers.

Berlin – Nokia and Harman will develop a co-branded Nokia/JBL line of audio products, the companies announced here at the IFA consumer electronics show.

In the U.S., the products would be sold exclusively through carrier stores, a Harman spokeperson told TWICE.

New York – Startup luxury brand AudioXperts revealed more details about its positioning and marketing strategy yesterday at a press conference where founder Eli Harary called the luxury market for home audio products “vastly underserved.”

Harary, a 40-year audio-industry veteran, described the selection of home audio products for luxury consumers as “very limited,” and said most of the available products “pay little to no attention to design or simplicity of operation.”

BOSTON – Industry veteran Eli Harary is returning to the home audio market to launch a new luxury brand, with some products appearing in stores as soon as late September.

The brand, AudioXperts, will include tabletop audio products, tabletop TV-audio platforms with swiveling base, and lifestyleoriented component speakers that will be available through authorized dealers, select online retailers, and directly through AudioXperts.
