Video & Audio Center Revamps Showroom

Video & Audio Center recently completed remodeling its Santa Monica showroom.

The 28-year-old specialty CE and custom-installation chain, operated by principals Joseph and Mayer Akhtarzad, has created dedicated display areas for its LG, Samsung and Sharp flat-panel assortments.

The renovation began last fall with the completion of a Sony section that features the company’s LCDs, Bravia wireless solutions, a dedicated Blu-ray department, a screening room for 1080p projectors, and interactive displays of Sony’s HD digital camcorders and cameras, GPS devices and Vaio laptops (see TWICE, Nov. 17, 2008, p. 24).

The now-completed store has an ultra-modern, high-tech look and is completely sectioned by brand, the company said.

Next up for the family-run business is a collaboration with Power of Home, a high-end California home furnishings retailer. Video & Audio Center is lending its specialty A/V products and services to the merchant, and will be featured throughout Power of Home’s newest location at the Agoura Design Center in Agoura Hills, Calif.

A member of the Home Theater Specialists of America (HTSA) buying group, Video & Audio Center also operates a showroom in Lawndale, Calif., and a custom home-theater showroom called Just One Touch near the Santa Monica store.
