Brand Source mixed business and pleasure at its National Convention & Buying Fair, held here last month at the Paris and Bally's hotels.

Besides a plethora of new programs, services and exhibitors, attendees were treated to an inspirational keynote address by former Southwest Airlines and Braniff CEO Howard Putnam — who drew parallels between the challenges faced by the aviation industry and retailers — and danced to the retro sounds of Starship & Friends, whose lineup included former members of Jefferson Starship, Bad Company, Deep Purple, ELO and The Romantics.
