LOS ANGELES – The La Curacao department store chain has joined the NATM buying group as its 12th member and first California-based dealer.

With nine locations in California and one in Arizona averaging 100,000 square feet, the privately held company is the largest U.S. department store that specifically caters to the Hispanic market. Founded in 1980 by door-to-door salesmen Ron and Jerry Azarkman, La Curacao is a fixture on TWICE’s Top 100 CE and appliance retailer rankings, coming in last year at 46th in electronics with $204 million in sales and 54th in majaps with $22 million in sales.

NATM is comprised of regional bigbox electronics and appliance chains. La Curacao becomes its second department store after Boscov’s.
