HTSA Raises $19K For Japan Relief

Chester Springs,
Pa. – Home Technology Specialists of America (HTSA) has raised $19, 245 to aid the victims of last month’s earthquake and tsunami
in Japan.

The buying group
for specialty A/V dealers, custom installers and system integrators said it
will split the funds evenly between the

American
Red Cross

and the

Japan Society

.
The Red Cross donation will be used primarily for healthcare and shelter, while
the money raised for the Japan Society will go towards rebuilding the country.

HTSA worked with its
Japanese vendors Mitsubishi, Panasonic and Sony in selecting the charities.

“We wanted our
donations to not only help the current tsunami victims but also aid in Japan’s
future recovery,” said HTSA executive director Richard Glikes. “This donation
will help the American Red Cross to provide health care and shelter for the
thousands of people injured or left homeless on March 11, and the money given
to the Japan Society will go towards the rebuilding of the devastated areas.

“I’m extremely proud
of the effort, generosity and unity that our members have shown during this
unfortunate time,” Glikes added. “The Japanese vendor community has been very
supportive of HTSA, and we felt it was our turn to repay their support in some
way.”
