GERS Sets 2002 Confab

GERS Retail Systems will hold its 20th annual user conference, Retail World 2002, this Aug. 19-22 at the Westin Horton Plaza, in this city’s downtown area.

All workshops, seminars and sessions — including first time “Users’ Choice” sessions — will tie into the theme “Turning Technology Into Results.”

In other GERS news, the retail software provider recently announced three additions to its dealer client roster: Abt Electronics, American Cellular and Yale Electric. Abt, which was named a 2001 TWICE Retailer of the Year, will implement the integrated GERS Enterprise1 solutions suite to support business growth, track sales and warranty information and improve operational efficiency.

Similarly, American Cellular, an authorized dealer for Cingular Wireless, replaced its legacy software system with Enterprise1 to accelerate processing at the point of sale, increase productivity and improve inventory control.

Yale said Enterprise1 would help “significantly reduce” its inventory investment and improve customer service with real-time delivery scheduling and sales and service information tracking.

Meanwhile, GERS unveiled its next-generation platform, Customer1, last month at CES. The online, real-time transaction management solution is designed to connect customers, orders and inventory via multiple communication channels.
