Lutz, Fla. — Perpetual Marketing Associates/PGW Distribution, which serves Florida dealers, installers and integrators, held its fourth annual TLC dealer education program, this year called TLC III, Oct. 10-11, here at the company’s headquarters.
The group added a “business-to-business segment” to the program that featured a presentation by industry marketing and business specialist Ted Green of The Stratecon Group According to a release, the presentation, called Housing Crash! Credit Crunch! Now What Do I do?!?!?, was to focus on providing Florida dealers with the opportunity to learn about the latest industry trends and best practices for building their businesses.
Executives from a variety of manufacturing companies were also on hand to make presentations including: Richard Dreyfus of Toshiba America Consumer Products, Darren Ferner of K2, Jeff Fisher of Ethereal, John Willis of TrippLite and Jim Murray of EZ Bracket.
Scottsdale, Ariz. — DBL Distributing has been ranked by the Arizona Corporate Excellence Awards as the 18th largest private company in the state, out of 20. According to the company, it has made the list for six consecutive years but will no longer qualify after this year due to its June acquisition of Ingram Micro.
In other DBL news, the company introduced a “pocket-sized custom installation field guide” for custom installers. According to a release, the 270 page reference book features more than 2,265 brand-name products from categories relevant to custom installers.
Atlanta — SLS Audio has appointed SED International as the newest distributor for its line of surround sound speakers and home theater systems.
Van Nuys, Calif. — AVAD has entered a distribution agreement to carry products from Encore! Home Entertainment, maker of home theater seating, entertainment centers and TV stands. As part of the deal, AVAD will offer one of Encore!’s home theater seats that has been designed exclusively for AVAD customers.
North Syracuse, N.Y. — WYNIT is celebrating its 20th anniversary this month.
In other news, WYNIT will provide product data from CNET Channel’s Data Supply service to enhance its e-commerce activity. The new partnership will allow WYNIT’s customers to have on-demand access to product specifications to help their customers find and sell the right products quickly, according to a release.
East Elmhurst, N.Y. — Cardinal Electronics hosted its dealer show at the Wyndham Guardian Hotel – LaGuardia Airport, here, Oct. 16-17. The two-day event featured product trainings and special “show deals” from some participating vendors.
Edmond, Okla. — Petra Industries reported that it raised $50,000 with its ninth annual charity golf tournament, held Oct. 4 here at the Oak Tree Country Club. The Mercy Ministries of America and Whiz Kids charities benefited from the proceeds from this year’s event, which was participated in by Petra employees and vendors.

Hauppauge, N.Y. — Electrograph has appointed Maureen Schmidt VP of its regional sales group, effective immediately. In her new role she will oversee all seven of the company’s sales regions. Schmidt most recently served as North American sales VP and senior director of channel sales at NEC Corporation of America.
