G-Form In Running For Edison Award
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – G-Form’s impact absorbing Reactive Protection Technology (RPT) composite material, which is used in the company’s impact-potective device cases, has been named a finalist for a 2013 Edison Award.
G-Form’s RPT is a finalist in the Material Science: Composites category, one of twelve categories honored by the Edison Awards, which recognize innovation, creativity and ingenuity in the areas of product development, design, engineering, science, marketing and education.
Award winners will be announced April 25, at a gala in Chicago.
G-Form’s athletic and consumer electronic products utilize RPT, a composite blend of Poron XRD material and proprietary G-Form materials that instantly stiffens upon impact and absorbs more than 90 percent of the impact energy. G-Form gained attention for RPT by releasing a video of a G-Form’s XTreme case successfully protecting an iPhone 5 from a 100,000 foot free fall from the stratosphere.
“The G-Form team has worked extremely hard for several years developing and testing our state-of-the-art Reactive Protection Technology,” said Daniel Wyner, CEO of G-Form. “We are honored to have our accomplishments recognized by an organization as prestigious as the Edison Awards program.”
