LAS VEGAS – Harman’s luxury group is launching JBL’s new flagship speaker, the $75,000/pair Project Everest DD67000, which will replace the DD66000 launched in 2007 at $65,000/pair.
The company is also unveiling the JBL Synthesis S3900, available at a suggested $10,000/pair in February through authorized JBL Synthesis installation specialists.
Like before, the new Project Everest model, due February, delivers extended frequency response beyond 50kHz, but multiple upgrades include new woofers, a new crossover network, and other improvements to deliver musical accuracy, said Jim Garrett, marketing and product management director at the Harman luxury audio group.
The Synthesis S3900 three-way tower with dual 10-inch woofers can be used as a stereo pair or as a left, center or right speakers in a JBL Synthesis multichannel home-theater installation. The speaker offers the power of the $20,000/pair S4700 introduced last year but in a smaller footprint to fit in a wider range of rooms. The S4700 will remain for the immediate future.
The S3900 features furniture-grade cherry wood finish and technologies from the new flagship Project Everest DD67000 and Project K2 S9900.
