Toshiba Adds U845T Ultrabook To Line At International CES

LAS VEGAS – Toshiba will introduce just one computer at International CES this week, the Ultrabook U845T.

The U845T is an updated version of the U845 Ultrabook that was rolled out during the back-to-school sales period last summer. The major upgrade is the addition of a touchscreen, said Young Bae, Toshiba’s product marketing manager, digital products division.

Otherwise the internal workings are identical to the original model, with an Intel Core i3-2377 processor, Windows, 8, 4GB DDR3 memory, and 500GB hard drive combined with a 16GB solid-state drive.

Bae said the addition of the U845T completes Toshiba’s Ultrabook touchscreen offerings.

The unit has not been given a firm price, but Bae said it will likely be in the $800 range. The U845T is expected to ship late in the first quarter. The remainder of Toshiba’s CES offerings is comprised of previously announced models.
