Washington, D.C. - XM Satellite Radio announced it surpassed the one-million subscriber mark in less than two years since its national debut.

XM claimed it is now one of the fastest growing media formats ever. It should be noted that satellite radio, as a whole, surpassed the one-million mark in one year and ten months when Sirius Satellite Radio figures are added. Sirius is expected to shortly announce its subscriber numbers for the third quarter. The company tallied 100,233 at the end of the second quarter.
