New York - Vizio
that it plans to make its first appearance at the Consumer Electronics
Association Line Shows here next week a showcase for its two approaches to 3D
HDTV presentation, among other things.
The company will show a variety of HD LCD TVs and wireless 3D
Blu-ray Disc players using two different 3D TV techniques, the active-shutter
technique using Bluetooth wireless technology instead of the standard IR system
used by most competitors, and a system based on the same passive polarized
glasses system used in most commercial movie theaters.
Vizio said it will showcase two 3D televisions to demonstrate the
approaches. A 55-inch TruLED Active 3D
HDTV incorporates a frame-sequential display and active-shutter glasses that
work together with Vizio's 480Hz SPS high-frame-rate technology for FullHD 3D
A Vizio 65-inch passive 3D HDTV enables the use of less-expensive
passive polarized glasses, while providing viewers greater style and comfort,
For 3D Blu-ray playback the company will demonstrate its Vizio
VIA Connected VBR330 with 2D and 3D HD capability.
Also on tap at the company's booth will be a comprehensive line
of Vizio Internet Apps (VIA)-enabled TruLED and Razor LED LCD TVs and Blu-ray
Vizio said it is putting the VIA system in every popular screen
size, from 22 to 55 inches, this year.
The 55-inch XVT-series TruLED HDTV and the M261VP 26-inch Razor
LED LCD HDTV both include the VIA system.
The M261VP and the 22-inch M220NV are among the smallest
Internet-enabled HDTVs on the market. Both include built-in Wi-Fi (802.11n)
access for easy setup, and the M261VP adds Full 1080p HD with Razor LED
Vizio is also showing its VHT510 5.1 home-theater sound bar with
wireless subwoofer offering a slim profile design that fits under any flat-screen
TV, Vizio said.
The wireless subwoofer can be placed anywhere up to 60 feet away
and connects two satellite speakers for surround-sound speaker placements.
To bring Internet-delivered content to its new VIA devices, Vizio
will also show its XWR100 dual-band HD wireless Internet router, which optimizes
wireless streaming of HD movies, TV episodes and music to Internet HDTVs and
Blu-ray Disc players and other Wi-Fi-enabled devices.
The XWH100 helps prevent loading delays while viewing online
movies or TV shows. It features a USB port to connect a hard drive to share
access to videos, photos and other content.
Also to be displayed are a range of Vizio headphones, including
wireless home-theater headphones that automatically sync with Vizio sound.
