Atlanta - Home theater projector manufacturer Vivitek and high-end LCD TV resource NuVision are announcing at CEDIA Expo Thursday that they have entered a partnership to develop and deliver high-performance, home theater-grade projectors for the custom installation market.

The first projector to be released under the partnership is the ProVu P2 Powered by Vivitek (Vivitek base model H9080HD LED).

The P2 (H9080HD LED projector) feature a Texas Instruments' DarkChip 4 Premium Spec DLP chip, a 100,000:1 contrast ratio, 800 lumens of brightness, professional grade optics (including long-, short- and anamorphic lens options), ISF calibration support, full HD 1080p (1,920 by 1080) resolution and Gennum's VXP image processing technology.

The LED light source is estimated to provide more than 20,000 hours of operating life in normal viewing conditions. Vivitek said that equates to running a traditional projector 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for just over two years without changing a lamp.

The Luminus PhlatLight RGB LED module replaces the traditional lamp and color wheel system, while increasing picture quality, expands the color spectrum and extends product life.

"We're pleased to be working with Vivitek on this latest venture to provide quality, high-performance home theater projectors," stated David Hester, NuVision vice chairman.  "This partnership will allow NuVision to continue to expand its best-in-class home cinema solutions.  And with UHP single chip in 3D and UHP 3-chip on the roadmap, there is a real commitment to stay at the forefront of excellence.  The ProVu P2 Powered by Vivitek is also covered by NuVision's unparalleled service with a three-year warranty on parts and labor and an annual maintenance visit."
