Merge VR continues its retail expansion with its colorful VR headset that saddles the fence between all-but-free Cardboard headsets and high-end Oculus Rifts.
The company’s soft, flexible Goggles will now be sold through 600 Best Buy stores, expanding total availability to more than 1,400 retail locations.
The foam headset, which can be used with Apple and Android smartphones, features a flexible construction, dual input buttons, audio ports, and ventilation to prevent them from fogging up. They also permit camera access for augmented-reality use.
In addition to Best Buy, the $79.99 Goggles are available at GameStop, Amazon, Newegg, B&H Photo Video and Target, among others.
Merge VR is also using its resources to curate a library of family-friendly VR content with age-appropriate ratings, known as VR Start.
