Philips Display Aims To Ease Eye Strain

Fremont, Calif. — EPI is now shipping a Philips-brand monitor geared toward eye safety.

The 24-inch Philips Soft Blue display (model 247E6BDAD) features anti-blue light technology said to protect users against the damaging effects of LED-backlit computer screens. The FullHD display with 16:9 aspect ratio also features VGA, DVI, MHL-HDMI and audio in/out ports.

Continuous blue-light exposure over an extended time poses a potential risk of long-term damage to eyesight, EPI said, noting that such problems as headaches, eyestrain and eye fatigue are common complaints after working on a computer for an extended period of time.

The monitor is currently available at a $170 suggested retail.
