Panasonic Sets Pricing On New Lumix Digicams

SECAUCUS, N.J. — Heading into
the PMA Show this week, Panasonic
released pricing information on four
recently introduced Lumix digital cameras
— the DMC-TS2 ($399 suggested
retail), DMC-ZS7 ($399), DMC-ZS5
($299.95), and DMC-ZR3 ($299).

All for models will be available in
March, the company said.

The Lumix DMC-TS2, a ruggedly
designed model, features HD video recording using the AVCHD Lite format,
and is waterproof to 33 feet (10m),
shock-proof to approximately 6.6 feet
(2m), freeze-proof to 14°F (-10°C) and
dustproof.

It features a 28mm wide-angle Leica
lens that extends to a 4.6x optical zoom.

Like most Lumix modesl, TS2 includes
iA (Intelligent Auto) mode with
face recognition.

The new ZS series models include
25mm ultra-wide-angle Leica 12x zoom
lenses, 12.1-megapixel resolution, auto
and manual setting controls, and a powerful
12x optical zoom, and HD video
capture.

The Lumix ZS7 includes a new builtin
GPS feature that embeds photos and
videos with latitude and longitude location
details, and it records HD video in
the AVCHD Lite format.

The Lumix ZS5 has a 2.7-inch,
230,000-dot Intelligent LCD, and records
HD video in Motion JPG format
at 30 fps.

The Panasonic’s Lumix DMC-ZR3
is a compact model with HD video
recording, 25mm ultra-wide-angle
Leica lens, and a 8x optical zoom
with Intelligent Zoom electronic 10x
digital zoom extension with minimal
distortion.
