InFocus Unveils High-Definition DLP Projector

Video projector manufacturer InFocus used CEDIA Expo to unveil its second DLP projector slated for consumer home theater applications.

The ScreenPlay 7200 incorporates Texas Instruments’ widescreen HDTV chip — called the Mustang/HD2 — Faroudja DCDi FLI2300 video processing technology and Carl Zeiss TM optics.

The projector is listed as a true 720p high-definition front projector with 1,000 lumens and dual light output modes designed to handle varying light conditions.

With eight video inputs, users can experience a broad range of entertainment sources, including enhanced-definition TV, HDTV and DVD viewing.

The 1,400:1 contrast ratio delivers film-like contrast and scene detail and the six-segment color wheel removes artifacts, enhances high-grade picture quality and allows accurate color reproduction.

In addition, the projector’s out-of-the-box calibrated home cinema quality simplifies the installation process. The ScreenPlay 7200 is available at a suggested $9,999.
